Armed with a Bachelor's degree in English, with a specialization in Literature from the prestigious University of the West Indies, Shanique laid the foundation for her journey into the world of letters. She continued her academic pursuits by obtaining a Masters in Education Management from The Mico University, a testament to her commitment to combining her love for literature with the principles of effective education and human development.
Shanique's journey as an avid reader and literary enthusiast led her to become a prominent figure in the literary scene in Jamaica.
As a writer for the Jamaica Gleaner, she has not only shared her insights on literature but has also championed the cause of promoting a vibrant reading culture in the region.
